Truck dispatching is not what it used to be at all. It's not an easy money scheme, it's a game for people who are ok with stress, are thick skinned, and are able to investigate and question everything. Should you become a dispatcher? I dont know, you let me know.

I get half a dozen dispatcher calls a day from overseas dispatcher that I could barely understand their English.
Why would I fire my dispatcher which I’ve had for years just to take a chance A possible scam dispatcher that doesn’t know anything about me.

Im happy i subscribed..getting got knowledge in some subjects and in others realizing im not the only one with the issues..Overall a lot of things need to change. Starting with rates ridiculous lumper and late fees.bad treatment. Mandatory 30 minute break on duty not driving or off duty!!! Truck parking.Broker Shipper transparency. And a few more items including fair detention and lay over pay..carrier's have allowed the abuse to continue and look where we are now..if every single truck here in US would stop running for only 1 week things would change. But unfortunately more than half don't have the cojones in place to do it..

Fmcsa has some dumb rules, obviously. That interstate and intrastate is super dumb. If you do business as a truck driver in state you're still regulated by fmcsa rules. They should be doing everything they can to protect trucking companies from scammers and bankrupt shippers and receivers.

"Dispatching is easy money" has to be the most ridiculous statement in trucking. There's not even many loads out there and whatever's there so cheap that you can lose money every week. We ended up in Iowa on today and everything was less than 2/mi for a market that's generally good paying. Once I had a load booked but my paranoia struck and I didn't know whom to call so I just copied tracking number from rate con to confirm if this is a legit load and we're on it.

shippers and brokers don't care if you go bankrupt. The bank wants it's money.

If a broker refuses to pay or "screens your calls" and never answers, or if the bond has been drained, you can always go back to the shipper and bill them under the "Bills of Lading Act". Please look into it!!

Miranda, dispatching your own small fleet off the spot market has to be stressful to say the least. A lot of the dispatching horror stories come from bigger fleets with hired off the street kids (I’m 62 so yes, kids) who are at best ignorant and/or absent minded or at worst deceitful. From lying about no loads available getting you home (as you load at a Shipper with another driver with the same company as you going to the location you requested weeks ago), to lying about your load being “hot” just to find out the Consignee laughs at you as he points to a whole warehouse full of the same product or gives you a 0700 appt when they know it’s actually several hours later just to assure you’re not late cuz some other driver was in the past, etc! How about a dispatcher not understanding why the load she just gave you can’t be picked up in one hour cuz on the map it’s only one inch apart from where you are at 3pm in Chicago on a weekday before they had toll by plate/prepass and everyone had to stop and pay at the toll booth. Just a few examples!

I refuse to use any additional services in this market. Doing it all myself. It’s a lot of work and requires a lot of attention to detail, out I look out for my interests better than anyone else in this predator-infested industry.

I was talking to my dispatcher on the phone. She had no idea. I was in the building when I walked into the office. She was playing Candy crush. Now she just got done telling me. She was currently looking for a load for me at that moment.

I've learned not to post my truck this is one way to avoid unwanted fake dispatchers But I only run Intrastate so most of my work is repeat customers so it works as a safeguard against scammers because unfortunately any business is at risk!!!
