I have a question when I try to populate new column using

CASE WHEN name = 'something' THEN 'somethingelse' end as 'New_Column'

I can not filter on this column like -- WHERE New_Column = {{my_filter}}
Can you explain why?

After creating the query on the editor, when I try to put a filter by location on the dashboard (1:53) and metabase asks "What kind of filter?", it doesn't show to me the options "City, State, Zip or Postal Code and Country", it shows "Dropdown, Is Not, Contains, Does not contain, Starts with and Ends With" instead. Any idea why?
