That wasn't supposed to happen! This giant Blue Heron flew in and ate Matt's topwater! What a mess! The bird was surprisingly calm through the whole experience and was able to be released safely and without any harm.

Saw it happen to my partner in a CT Federation tournament about 20 years ago. He reeled the bird in and it crapped all over the front deck of the boat. I laughed the rest of the day

When I was about 10 years old my grandad was showing me how to throw a baitcaster.. After I learned how to control my thumb on it I tied on a spinner bait.. first cast I nailed a big bird right in its' wing as it was flying by and it tore all the line off the reel! lololol

I've lost 2 spooks to blue herons and a bucktail to a seagull saltwater fishing with my dad when I was little. Flew the gul around like a kite. Good times. 😂
