As I am listening to this, a fighter jet fired its afterburners across the sky, blinding out the sounds from the tiny speaker, calling for hope. Nothing has changed; it is a stark reality to be in.

Higher education has its value, but the arrogance and hubris of academia that anything of value must first spring forth from higher education is off putting. Higher education for the sake of higher education means nothing, and compelling those who choose not to go the college to pay for those who do is an injustice. Something of such higher presumed value should be paid for by those that will benefit from its value.
