Which means those very distant galaxies we’re seeing today are so old that they may not exist anymore.

The fact that it takes something as fast as light billions of years to reach ANYTHING is hard to fathom

I’m 64 years old now and if I had had a science teacher like him when I was a boy, I would’ve stayed in science and who knows how far I could’ve gone. Teachers and instructors like this guy are the kind we need in our schools today! They make learning exciting and fun and interesting. As learning should be.❤️

13 billion years from our perspective. From the perspective of photon was instant because in speed of light there is no time.
Beautiful universe ❤️

The incomprehensible size of the cosmos, as well as our little speck of dust in it, boggles the mind.

seeing light from such distant galaxies is like hearing the thunder seconds after a lightning strike. You can sense it, but the thing that caused it is gone already.

That distance of 186, 000 miles per second for an unimaginable 13 billion years is beyond all comprehension. Now imagine if you could travel that entire distance in one second. Would you keep traveling after you have reached the brginning of everything? What exists beyond the beginning?

You can tell he truly loves learning and sharing the wonders of our universe and his love for it travels through his words into people. I have no doubt that there will be many kids who will follow in his path because of him.
