In my own interpretation, this person has the fictional(fantasy or not real) hanahaki disease where if someone loves another but the other doesn't love them back, the person who loved them will start vomiting petals until it starts to grow into bouquets with thorns until they completely get killed if the person they love doesn't confess/love them back, thus causing the hanahaki disease. If you notice, the flowers at the end of every part(?) starts getting bigger and bigger, and the flowers in the background start to sway more and more violently meaning that the person is getting closer and closer to dying.
