LINDA RONSTADT Get Closer EXTENDED VIDEO

Показать описание
A very rare (thanks anonymous3498673) extended version of Linda Ronstadt's 1982 Grammy winning title 'Get Closer'. Clocking in at just 2 and a half minutes; I always thought the original was too short, and may have contributed to it not being as big a success as it might have been. then again her 1980 hit 'How do I make you' was even shorter! So what do I know? What I DO know is that Linda Ronstadt is one of the great vocalists of last century. Her career dates back an incredible 50 years and traverses literally every musical genre ever invented (perhaps metal the only one the singer didn't attempt). Blessed with a powerful and versatile voice as well as a recognizable one, it is indeed tragic that Linda Ronstadt can no longer sing due to a Parkinson's diagnosis in 2012. Linda's discography is simply gargantuan in its sheer volume and diversity.
I have chosen this rock track and clip to extend as it is such a rare recording from the 1982 sessions that produced the LP, and that it showcases Linda's vocal prowess and her playful and appealing style.I really like this longer version of the song with extra verse; and it gives it extra bite!
For me, 'You're no good' in 1975 is a firm favourite, but I love so many of Linda's tracks. 'Blue Bayou' is simply sublime, 'Tumbling Dice' and 'Poor Poor Pitiful Me' show that even within one album: 77's Simple Dreams, Linda could memorialise and make her own, songs from such different heritages. There aren't enough words to describe the brilliance of Linda Ronstadt; and thankfully I don't have to - the music more than elegantly and eloquently speaks (or sings for itself).
