I must be weird outlier among weird outliers because before I turned vegan 30yrs ago I hated ALL vegetables and as a child would literally fill my pockets with them to flush them down the toilet (strict mum). Meat was the only thing worth eating after chocolate and crisps. However, I’ve literally never so much had a craving for meat since I turned vegan and even only ever had one dream where I ate meat—bacon, of course! Maybe it’s because I have an OCD-like adherence to my ethical stance; maybe that’s what is required?

"vegetarian in Croatia is impossible". Assuming that's true, does he still live in Croatia? He knows he doesn't have to continue to eat it after eating it a couple times when it was allegedly necessary, right?

I hate it when rich and famous people say its hard to be vegan, then it seems impossible for us normal people. Croatia has gotten so much better in vegan options in recent years and there is no reason to exploit animals.

I think hunting one's own food is still a pretty defensible thing to do, if your plant-based alternatives are commercially grown crops. I have problems with fishing folk though given the wildlife harmed by discarded lines etc, but in terms of what I think veganism is about catching and eating fish is a fair choice.
