You both have great taste but I have to say you wife's taste seems more broad and like my own. I enjoy nonfiction a lot and I'm Glad My Mom Died was also my favorite read of 2022, The Well of Ascension a close second.

There are a lot of books out there that most people haven't heard about that should get a lot more exposure. The last one I read was When Dying Is Not a Problem and I really liked it, but very few people know about it.

Overall I prefer your choices as I love a chonky fantasy read. Although I agreed with your wife on Piranesi, that was super intriguing to me.

The YT algorithm turns, and tastes come and pass, leaving thoughts that become memories. Memory fades to nostalgia, and even nostalgia is long forgotten when the YT algorithm comes again. There are neither good tastes nor bad tastes to reading.

I think your wife has a better reading taste, I don't believe one should be limited in any manner when it comes to books, I don't think I have ever heard you read anything other than fantasy but yes, your patreon would kill you if you even think about it ig
I'm glad you brought her in this video to give me a more diverse recommendations, but yeah, i would be thrown off my house roof if my mum saw me reading a book titles "I'm glad my mom died" and yes im still gonna do it

I love the lies of lock lamora but Jenette McCurdy's book was such a wild ride I don't know how you would even begin to compare the two. But solid choices both! I'm not a huge Robin Hobb fan but I repeatedly keep seeing Ships of Magic in everyone's top list I'm going to have to check it out
