AB = 12cm AD =8cm, AE = 12cm and AC = 18cm
Prove that DE parallel to BC:
DB=AB-AD
=12-8
=4cm
EC=AC-AE
=18-12
=6cm
According to Basic Proportionality Theorem
AD/DB=AE/EC
8/4=12/6 2
Therefore, DE parallel to BC [By Converse of Basic Proportionality Theorem]
