Using a cooler flow gauge we determined that there was a loss of pressure in the LH rotation position. Upon disassembly it was noted that the sealing rings were badly worn and the insert in the case was grooved. A used insert was installed and the transmission was completely disassembled, clutches inspected and resued along with new gaskets and seals. We tested it after repair on our dyno to verify the repair. Vessel is a 39' Carver with a pair of 7.4L MPI Mercruiser's. This was the port side. Velvwlt Drive 5000 2.8:1 ratio. The original concern was after about 20 minutes up on plane the alarm would sound and the transmission was over 210 degrees F.
