And if you remove that storage flap, you can actually fit as much gear as the ford expedition. We got one as a loaner and all our beach gear fit exactly the same, almost better. So if you don’t need the 8 seating capacity or the 9k towing, the explorer is a great option.

Kelly- did you have any issues with the rear facing seatbelt install with the explorer and the poplar? I have a one-4-life and can’t get the click-tight to work with my 2021 explorer seatbelt. Wondering if maybe we should switch to the poplar.

Do all the trims have the built in sunshades?

I can't believe there are no real cup holders for the second seat. That one in the door will only accommodate a short cup. I think that is a huge over sight.

Got an 2022 Limited (loaded with options) as a hire car for a week. Was surprised by how much I enjoyed driving it - could really feel the rear drive dynamics, even the 4 cylinder engine had plenty of power and a big trunk too.
Though it had all the goodies, it felt cheap for $52k car and while the tech was OK to use, the screen felt poorly positioned.

It felt they had not sweated the details.

Looks like they have fixed the above…though would be worried about Ford’s reliability record.
