Fun fact about American toll roads... the toll road in Indiana went bankrupt and is now owned by a company out of Spain and one out of Australia.

Michigan people hate the Chicago greedy inefficient toll roads . It’s clearly takes fun out of travel, costly, and so many idiot stops too. I also read many accidents happen near these tolls and they run slow and in sone cases, with no human worker. A pure waste of time and destroys a vacation or business trip. Be innovative like Michigan. Michigan doesn’t have a single toll road. No wonder Michigan is the top travel vacation state in the USA during summer months!! Pure Michigan makes it fun and affordable!!

Okay so I live meh... an hour from Chicago and Chicago traffic terrifies me, so last summer I was afraid to pull into the booth. I just stayed on the highway and blew all the iPass signs instead of going to the booth and paying.

It was $200 in the mail. I knew you could look up the plate number online and pay early but it was a fine for each thingie I passed. It was totally my fault though.

So now I have iPass. But the toll booths are EVERYWHERE!

My mom commutes but she takes the train which adds an extra hour each way because of the cost of tolls. It’s like you don’t say your mile marker, it’s your tollbooth marker.

It’s highway robbery. Literally!

Tolls in Illinois are not cool for most Americans. The best tolls in the US in my opinion are in Washington state, right. Most likely in I-5.

Tolls are only in Chicago but not in the rest of Illinois and Florida has all tolls everywhere it’s annoying if your driving to Florida you’ll pass about 8 tolls and pay a total of probably 30-40 dollars

Welcome to the Windy City. Most of time the damn GPS guides you through the tolls even if you try to avoid them.
Just wonder how much cut google gets.
I continue declining every time my gps wasn’t to change the route on me. Unless if I don’t know the area around. (Out of state)

We're you driving in circles and lost?

There are only two between here and Toronto that are in the US. Driving to Toronto, near there you can choose between a toll or non toll highway and if you choose the toll it's like $25 Canadian.
