Meri legally divorced Kody years ago so Robyn (4th wife) could legally marry him. this allowed him to do a step-parent adoption of Robyn’s 3 kids from her first marriage. Christine, Robyn, and Janelle have said that their sect of the AUB requires a church to grant a “release” to be considered divorced in the AUB. In some episodes, Robyn has said that a person is also considered divorced once a wife has “been with” another man. Until that time, or the granting of a release, the parties have a shot at reunion. It is unclear how divorce impacts their interpretation of Kody’s “rights after death” to lead another world since they believe a man needs at least 3 wives in order to have such celestial benefits.

This just shows you how unconditionally Meri supported them. She should be the legal wife but isn’t. Robyn said it didn’t matter but big shock, it definitely did in the end. Financially Kody didn’t have to pay any of the other wives a thing to when they “divorced” because none of that was legal. So sad.

He is only married to Robyn legally. He and Meri divorced so that he could marry Robyn and adopt her kids from her other marriage.

Oh but if you listen to Robyn side she says “you have to have deal breakers or you have to stay” & be unwanted, unloved, un-intimate just deposit your check to The bank of Robyn for her pleasure. Oh my bad I HAD too go there.

Kodys married to Robyn legally. They got married back in Vegas when meri unhappily divorced Kody for Robyn so he could adopt her kids.

Prior to this their marriage had been in name only after the addition of Robyn. (Meri has stated their “intimate” marriage ended not long after Robyn came “cap in hand” 😂)
