In today’s GBFC video, George Benson dives into the latest Chelsea FC news as the club begins April with major financial headlines, transfer rumors, and strategic concerns. Chelsea have posted a £98.7 million profit thanks to selling subsidiaries like the women’s team, narrowly complying with PSR rules—but George explains why this kind of profit isn't sustainable and could force future Chelsea player sales. He also discusses the club’s struggles with João Félix, who is set to return from a failed loan at AC Milan, and why Chelsea may struggle to recoup his transfer value.

George also reacts to a reported swap deal involving Enzo Fernández and Atlético Madrid’s Pablo Barrios, shares updates on Chelsea’s defensive targets like Jules Koundé and Dean Huijsen, and explains why future transfer business must be smart and focused on both quality and experience. With the summer window approaching, Chelsea’s financial reality is becoming clearer, and player sales may be inevitable to fund new signings. Plus, George previews this week’s huge clash: Chelsea vs Tottenham at Stamford Bridge. Don’t miss this insightful update—drop your thoughts in the comments and subscribe for daily Chelsea content all April!

We've petrovic for goalkeeper position. We need experienced defender and stricker with free agents. Like Jonathan Tah and Jonathan David.

What I don't understand is the whole "Felix doesn't fit the manager's plans" story that I keep seeing. Maresca wants us to be a high-press type of team, and Felix fits that better than most everybody in our front line minus maybe Jackson and Neto. How does he not fit the plans? Is it because he's more willing to take shots and risks than possession-minded Maresca wants? Because if that's the case, then maybe it's not Felix that's the problem.

J Felix will be a very expensive but very useful playmaker sub for I have no problem with that.

My opinion is get Petrovic back and make him nr 1 option and sell R.Sanchez.. Spend money on striker and a left winger .. Victor oshimen would be perfect for us a

I think the ownership knew that the PSR rules would be tightened around selling subsidiary assets after they made those moves. By doing so we get ahead of the league and have a pool of assets (players) which because they are younger - will appreciate faster than buying galacticos - to your point, we need a balance between developing young players and bringing in experience for results. Right now that balance is skewed way too much before younger players and the focus on profits. If we don't bring in experience it will be clear that the owners are treating the club and players like PE first do any asset and they just want returns, luckily for fans, making CL versus not is a huge driver, so let's hope they recognize that and get a goalkeeper and striker with some experience. I agree on Petrovic, but we need to break the rules to get Oshimen, Gyokeres at least, but I think he goes to Man U because of relationship with Amorim.

Chelsea could still sell the assets as they still own everything if they really had to pull it off again. But obviously that would cause a shit storm if they sell the women’s team etc. but the possibility is still there they just couldn’t sell it to themselves

We need to stop feeding into this "our only choice is to sell players now" narrative. EVERY CLUB SELLS PLAYERS. Thats nothing new. We havent even fully captured our revenue potential since we dont have a front of shirt sponsor or renovated stadium. We are banking on relatively safe bets at the moment (making the CL - youngest team in 4th atm; 50 mil a year shirt sponsor - almost guranteed with CL berth; young stars growing into superstars - every big club wanted them; renovated stadium - almost always brings more revenue).

Also for all the moaning our fans have done, why are we protecting the 1st team players like they are all Messi. Nearly everyone barring a few SHOULD be sold for their poor performances. And all of them were "safe purchases" instead of youth investment which we have yet to see come to fruition. We dug this hole by targeting the big money "safe bets" while most of our youngsters have far exceeded those players performances. We used to buy so poorly under Abramovich that people have forgotten (Torres, Shevchenko, etc.). We need to buy players who havent reached their ceiling because we develop them better than most other clubs.
