Wow.. a t sniper..cool. I had a minty #5 mk1 jungle carbine with original bayonet..300 yd gun for sure.
They are still popular up here in Canada. They hit hard. Super nice radios. I have kept a couple Racals as we have texted back and forth in a video on the 6217. My other is a modified tube R-4C..silky quiet..
Also used to have almost identical WJ you have there. Still have the DRO counter. You have a fantabulous collection.

Yes, in 1998 kneiser and doering came out with a dsp consumer radio that worked really well

When in SSB, you do not have a Carrier Present for the center tune to lock on to, so that makes sense on why it only works in CW or AM modes..
The spectrum Scope becomes a very critical piece of a radio when in SSB mode, as it clearly shows you the USB or LSB waveform...
That allows for precise tuning from a visual perspective, but before scopes, it was the human ear that did all the work...
Fun Stuff...

Wow that fast AGC on the EB200 was ⚡ fast

Still have my EB200 from work. Complete system it comes in 2 cases, one with the handheld antennas for when conducting a sweep. The 200 got lots of use in embassies and certain sensitive locations for TSCM use. That along with “the broom” ie NLJD to look for passive devices etc.. That EB200 cost about 50K back in the days. I should reply with a quick video of a EB200 TSCM package if you have not seen the antennas etc..

Do you know if the EB200 has crystal filters I know the 070 has top quality crystal filters I'm not sure if the 200 is all DSP?

I'm wondering if the threshold adjustment is the if gain threshold or the agc threshold

In the newer R&S you can probably adjust the agc within the configuration menu. Normal is Fast in CW and Slow in SSB. The size of the upper one is fine but how did they hit upon the idea to have the antenna plug on the front panel??? Thanks for the chance to listen to these radios. My suspicion is that 95% of all signals can be heard with an R5000 or similar and only for the remaining 5% you profit from an exquisite radio. Just saw that you also have a DX101. What do you think about that radio when used outside the amateur radio bands and modes? I find even the 7300 better for SWL.

Today with an IC-7300 on HF you listen the same stations!

You can try a mad minute with it, with enough of them during the war the enemy thought they were being fired at by machine guns

That "uV" isn't pronounced as "uv", but "mu v", as it's not a letter "u" but the Latin letter "mu", as the math notation for micro (meaning micro Volt), it's written differently, with a tail on the left side of the letter.

Boarded, , , cant you go out back and just shoot some coyotes or rabbits??? 🙂 You notice that Diego said that his Yaesu FT-991 radio along with the KENWOOD TS-890S has a Auto Zero Beat so just hitting the Kenwood CWT button does all the work for you, so go Run Out to the trash can and get that 890S out before I come get it, , , LOL...
BTW, His Video was spot on since some radios dont have the auto tune CW feature.. LIKE THE KENWOOD!!! 🙂
