So the new Solico Whiteout is Coming Out in Jan.
From what I’ve heard it’s going to be more muted. Also, I’m not a big fan of the paint job. I’m not opposed to picking a discontinued model as my new racquet. So (the old) whiteout 305 xtd is in the running. Not sure if I will test the new one…

Loving the series to see how you feel about the racquets, but mostly a joy to see you hitting some serious balls and having a great time.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy holidays Nik and rest of my tennis family here.
Cheers,
M

It would be ironic for him to spend all this time lighting out his racket and then he ends up adopting the Solinco White Out

Great video! loving the series. Looks like you had so much fun with the xtd! Try adding an overgrip and maybe experiment with the 5 or 10 gram modular butt cap in the xtd and that should help with maneuverability and stability

Its cool that solinco makes different length frames all the way to 28. The 27.5 model seems perfect for Nick because he served well, had control and the stick he played for years was 27.5. With more time with it the forehand will get better and with Nick's serve he will get a lot of easy balls anyway. My current pick for his finals racquet winner.

The Pro staff 6.1 stretch was 28 inches. It was a beast and I killed it with that one. There haven't been 28inch players frames out there. This looks tempting.

I have been watching Nick doing these tests since the beginning, and I gotta tell you that I never saw him having so much fun like he was having with the 305 xtd. But it is also worth it to say that he was pretty dominant with the 290 also. I am also willing to try some of these racquets after this video . Which one would be better for a player that relies on his spin forehand ? The 290, I suspect. I hope Nick could give me some advice on that. I am playing with pure aero today . Thanks for sharing this whole series of tests with us Nick

i love this kind of videos. It is a cool way to review a racket during match play. You asked if the serve is more important or your forehand with the extended. For me the bigger question as I am also testing rackets - can I adapt to it in the long run. I also tried an extended racket and in the first 30 minutes I was late on my forehnad a lot but after that I managed to find a way and really enjoyed playing with the long racket. Especially on my backhand!

Solinco has weighted buttcaps that either add 5g or 10g. So, if you like a particular model’s stiffness and swingweight but you lack static weight. You can add these on to bump up the static weight. They also work on Wilson rackets from what I’ve heard.

Good stuff Niick! Considering what's played best for you so far, I think it's pretty evident you're preferring 290-305g frames with firmer flex, raw/connected feel, higher energy return, good lateral stability (higher twist weights) and string beds that are consistent, precise but also playable enough outside the sweet spot. As such, I think you should round out your play testing with the following: new Babolat Pure Drives (100, Team and 98), Aeros (100, Team, 98), Dunlop CX 400 and 400 Tour (IMHO, don't bother with any of the 200's), Babolat Pure Strike 100 16x19 and Pure Strike Team (I wouldn't bother with the 98's, too cumbersome, nor the 100 16x20, too sluggish/soft). Tecnifibre TFight 295 and, if you're open-minded enough to try Prince, the Textreme Warrior 100, Warrior 100 300g, maybe the 285 as well. I think those will conform to the qualities you seem to be drawn to, better than anything else left that you haven't tried yet. Best of luck in finishing your testing and picking a winner!

Have you been playing with the same string setup on all these play tests? Would be nice to know if you have been making adjustments there as well.

Rumor has that Roman Prokes helped design these racquets for Solinco. The frames are foam filled and feel really good.

Playing great with the White Out Xtd and the Black Out Xtd! Predicting one of these will be the winner plus Solinco would definitely sponsor you! Win win!

Great play testing analysis! Have you tried the volkl v-cell sticks? I’d love to see you try the v1 pro and v1 mp. They are similar to ones you are trying but are more arm friendly. Thanks!

Thanks for doing these racket demo videos. For what it's worth, I suggest you go with the Whiteout 305. You're relatively young and play at a high level. The 290 frame will get pushed around by better players, lacks stability at impact which isn't good for your health and lacks power. I am not fan of extended frames. You get a little more leverage and pop but the extended frames are less maneuverable. At your height, you really don't need the extra length either.

I'm playing the 290 Whiteout, l'île it very much, control, comfort, stability, love the string pattern (tfight 300 alike). Great great stick.

Nick, I've been watching your test videos, I encourage you to try the Ezone 100 Light. It'll feel powerful on your backhand and serve and light/maneuverable on your forehand. Those are the qualities I was looking for as well and the 100L works great.

Nick, night and day performance between the whiteout and the blackout

Gald you were able to try the Whiteout. I said you'll like it, especially XTD. I use .5 but cap along with small stripes of lead at 3 and 9. Now, you got me thinking going without lead tape and trying lower swing weight? I think the 290 is just too light especially against hard hitters and 4.5 players ? But i do like create spin/angles like you. That's harder on the XTD. And the serve is also the difference. My guest is you'll will go with XTD and experiment with the weight. Good luck Nick !
