I like that Joseph grabbed the stone before running away because he predicted that after Kars used a layer of bubble armor to survive being crashed into a volcano, he would want to show off his invincibility by using his former weakness Hamon on Joseph, and then if Joseph held up the stone it would send a magnified burst of Hamon into the volcano causing a massive eruption that would send both of them into the upper atmosphere, at which point Kars would attempt to fly away but be hit by Joseph's severed arm, distracting Kars long enough to be hit by a volley of small rocks which would impart enough momentum to Kars' body for him to escape the Earth's gravitational pull, dooming him to float through the vacuum of outer space until he ceased thinking and essentially turned back into a rock, thus saving the world for another 50 years until Joseph's grandfather's archenemy DIO would be retrieved from the bottom of the ocean and awaken magical spirit powers called Stands which would transfer to the rest of the Joestar family due to their ties with the body of Joseph's grandfather which was taken over by DIO, which would require Joseph and his grandson Jotaro to go on a quest to Egypt to defeat DIO in order to save Joseph's daughter Holly, who would lack the fighting spirit necessary to control a stand and have her life jeopardized by the awakening, which would ultimately culminate in the narrow defeat of DIO and the awakening of the godly time-stop ability in his grandson Jotaro's Stand, which would subsequently prove useful in the elimination of various threats in the crazy noisy bizarre hometown of Joseph's illegitimate son Josuke, after which threats were eliminated Jotaro would send an acquaintance to check on another stand user in Italy who was the son of DIO in order to ascertain his intentions, and who would, after clearing the vibe check, go on to defeat a level 99 mob boss with the indispensable aid of an ally that Jotaro and Joseph would have met on their initial journey to Egypt over a decade earlier, saving countless kids from getting hooked on drugs, which would create a slightly better world in the short period of time before a gay priest would harvest DIO's boner and use it to achieve heaven before being thwarted by the hail mary of Joseph's great granddaughter.
