So...can we agree neither Angela nor will understood what Django was about? It wasn't meant to be a love story it was an homage to old school westerns which were mainly revenge stories with white leads, but this time with a black lead. If you dont like it fine, but don't claim it to be something that it was never gonna be. You're upset that the movie wasn't made how you wanted it to be made, but it was never your movie, never your vision and the fact is many black people loved it for giving us another great iconic Black hero/anti hero, set in slavery no less. Complaining about the movie is like complaing about a painting in a museum if you dont enjoy it move to the next one so others can enjoy it. Did not mean for this comment to be so long but hey I love this movie so 🤷🏿‍♂️

I’d go as far as to say Django Unchained is better than any Will Smith movie. There are a few Will Smith movies where it’d be close, but I’d still give the edge to Django.

this interview seems scripted to make Will Smith feel good for rejecting one of Tarantino's best films and one of the best films ever made. He doesn't want to admit that he didn't accept because he would share protagonism with other great actors.

It’s a perfect movie. Will couldn’t see himself in it so he turned it down. Thank you will for the honesty. Instead of trying to fit the role or change the script, he just let Jamie do it instead and it is perfect.

Jamie is far above Will's caliber. An unquestionably better actor. Will is a commercial actor who's made Hollywood millions of dollars but he's not even even close to being a great actor.
