Guys, I passed the MSF course in CT last weekend. I had ZERO experience riding on a motorcycle and I was able to do it. Don’t overthink the entire course, don’t stress yourself, you will be taught every skill necessary and you do it so many times that it is very difficult to fail. Here’s what I’d suggest:

1) have fun
2) listen to instructions
3) clutch control (being in the friction zone is an important skill you need to grasp to pass) - you practice this over and over.
4) don’t get discouraged if you are not getting it right away. You will start getting it with plenty of time before the skills test.

Enjoy!

Good and helpful video. Just a clarification: Counter-weighting is for slow speed maneuvering. Counter-steering is for normal road or highway speeds.

Thank you for this video.. I re-test for the skills on 4/30/23.. I should have practiced when I bought my 2023 Honda Rebel 300 but I wanted to wait until I took the course. 🙏🏽

I passed my test on a stretched straight piped grom it was a blast lol I’m a little more “advanced” then the other (dirtbike riding, some cruiser riding) and it was a fun experience I was zipping around on it definitely not as hard as people make it to be

I did my first day today most of these he clumped together into one big course we went around maybe 10 times and spent more time ranting about politics than teaching us the book work...tomorrow we have a completely different instructor to pick up where he left off because the guy from today has to go out of town so that should be fun...wish me luck 😅

Oregon State has the hardest test I have ever seen~! On the cone swerve the cones are 15 ft apart but every other cone is off set by 3ft from the center line. NOT easy that way. Secondly on the quick corner left or right if you don't turn your head in the direction of the turn like about 20 feet before you get to the L--turn you flunk the turn.... Again not easy to see were the box turn is when they won't let you look at it before you make you Also on the quick stop you much shift from second to first before you make your quick stop or you flunk that too. 50 years riding and licsenses in two other states but Oregon will try to fail you ~! They make you take the test with a for profit company "Team Oregon" that has a 200 dollar vested interest in makiing you paying for the class twice too !

failed after two worthless days in stormy weather, didnt emphasize any practical skills, just criticized looking down when pegs on shitty 500cc harleys fold when pulling feet up (im too large for those bikes), but hey, run 4 times on a course its second nature to
