Pulse Ox tracking on your Garmin – Garmin® Retail Training

preview_player
Показать описание
Pulse Oximetry (or Pulse Ox, for short) is a noninvasive method used to measure the saturation of oxygen in the bloodstream. Compatible devices use a combination of red and infrared lights with sensors on the back of the device which can determine the percentage of oxygenated blood (SpO2%) available in your blood. This value should, in general, be 95% or higher in most settings but can be influenced by altitude, activity, and an individual’s health.

Our bodies distribute oxygenated blood to every part of our body through our respiratory system. Being aware of your SpO2 can help you understand how your body reacts to various situations and can serve as an indication of important changes in your health.

I've been wearing my Vivoactive 4S for several months now, and it seems to me that the Pulse Ox measuring is way to low. I mostly get values in between 80 and 95, rarely higher than 95. When I get a reading with a finger-device, it's always 98-99-100... I had hoped that Garmin would have a better and more accurate SPO2 monitor, but as it is it is pretty useless 😒

Garmin should make a dedicated SP02 wearable. Make it twice as wide and double the battery...maybe even have a fingertip attachment that connects from wrist to finger for increased accuracy. I’d buy that alone g th or $99.

As PulseOx is a heavy battery consumer, could we have the ability to turn it on for a few minutes per day, to produce spot checks? This would be similar to having a portable finger end monitor, which is typically only used for five minutes at a time.

It does not show right numbers on the Forerunner 965. I have tested it against 5 different dedicated pulse oximeters. When I measure on one of the dedicated pulse oximeters, I get 97-98%. At the same time my Garmin Forerunner 965 shows 90-91%, which is not true at all. The numbers are measured on the same arm at the same time - I have no hair on my wrist. So this cannot be the cause of the wrong reading. So it is not precise at all..

Not real certain it is very accurate. I bought a brand new Garmin Fenix 7 Sapphire and the readings I get seem to be very low. Consistently running between 88-92 so I went a bought an actual fingertip Ox reader and the readings are running around 97%. I will do more testing using them at the same time.

Despite all of the blah blah there was nothing about a recommended body position. there were a few shots of people sitting, so I assume that sitting is ok. what about lying down? sure you can track pulseox while sleeping so lying down list work too, but is there a recommended position

ciao Garmin, per cortesia potete verificare l'ultimo aggiornamento 20.30? Sul mio fenix 6 pulse ox segna sempre 100%, raramente 98/99...

I was hoping to be shown how to check it, as a one off measurement. I found how to change the settings. Not really that helpful for me

on my Garmin 2 daily tracking is not working. the last percentage measured disappears and then reappears every time I navigate through the menus. Manual measurement works. Is there anything i can do fix it? It is with the latest firmware

So reading between the lines pulse=ox reads oxygen in your blood by heart rate, elevation ( altimeter ) and GPS movement, ie, it reads what it SHOULD be, and not what it actually is ?

Somewhat off topic question here, but if I have two Garmin watches (Vivoactive 3 & a Vivomove Style) can the data collected via each watch be collaborated within the same account/app? Or would I have two entirely separate sets of data spread over two accounts?

FYI I don't have either of these watches yet. One would be for work and the other for home.

Thanks!
