GS News - Halo franchise may span genres, but not on PC

Microsoft rep says there are no plans to port game to computer platform. company will explore bringing Master Chief outside of FPS genre if the experience fits.

If 343 can take the Halo franchise and put it into an action adventure game, I'd be pretty stoked as I'm not too keen on FPS games.

I was hoping that H4 would be coming to the PC, but I still can appreciate Microsoft's dedication for the series and not money whoring like some other dev's.

I believe 343 should make a game called Halo: The Covenant! In the game we follow the story if and elite and his squad throughout the original human-covenant war. It should give us details about the elite life style and also include battles on planets we've never heard about! I believe this would be a fun new game and a good story line that many fans would like to see!

A shooter RPg could work they already have elements in the multiplayer that could make that work, or a squad based outing now that we have the spartan 4's

if they make an rpg like halo i would be ok with it as long as its made by a different company while 343i make traditional halo games like 3, reach and 4 ect.

Look 343 I just want these mediums: FPS, RPS, Strategy, and novels. Thats it. No more FUD, or movies.

Except Halo 1 ad 2 are on PC, and PC is also Microsoft's platform

I think a 2.5 d shooter on xbla would be quite fun

funny thing is the only difference between ps3 and xbox are the few exclusives and the design of the controlers and the looks of the consoles

Two things:
1: I kind of like that Halo is Xbox only. It's a great exclusive to have and it would lose its impact if it went to PC.
2: Different types of gameplay? Just bring out Halo Wars 2!

You're right on some points, but why exactly is the PS3 built better? Excluding the RRoD which has been solved a few years ago, both consoles are made of plastic so I don't really see why one would come on top. I think the biggest selling point for the PS3 is Bluray, and I can't believe Microsoft didn't try to include it in the new version of the 360, even if they had to pay royalties to put it in their console I think it would've been worth it.

The original game was on PC...so idk. I think it'd be cool if they branched out a bit, made a game that wasn't exactly like the consol games, that would fit better with PC.
I dont see why people hate on other gaming systems, whether its PS3, Wii, xBox or computers, there all making games for our intertainment, and yet theres all these people raging over how ones better than the other. It really shouldn't matter, its all just a game. Let Halo be for PC players to.

Maybe there will be an RPG like aproach to Halo... Wouldn't make sense with Master Chief though... Maby in a Halo Reach Style where everyone has his own Spartan...

Just get an Xbox for $50 off of eBay. I still wish it was out for the PC though, it would made a hell of a lot more sense for Microsoft do that.
