I love these Randall model one copies. And Blackjack seems to be one of the few who do an amazing convex edge. Bark River also makes awesome MACVSOG knives too. Great video!

The new TOOL album is amazing....I love when people I watch on the tube actually like good music. Gives me a small yet needed boost of faith in mankind. Thank's for the vids. Beautiful blade---I hope to pick up a commando "classic 7" soon.

Beautiful knife! I'm wanting the Blackjack 127 bowie..it's kind of like a grail for me, but I want the black micarta or Ivory micarta like yours, with the swelled handle configuration, which are pretty hard to find. I only can find green micarta or stacked leather, at least in the handle configuration I want. Although you may be right about the sheath's retention strap, I've found that most Bark River sheaths come very tight, which they do on purpose, because the leather will stretch over time and become loose. What I do with them is wet the strap and stretch it to fit, then once it dries, it fits perfect, and stays that way over time. I'm not sure if yours could have been done like that or not since I don't have one myself to compare, but just a heads up in case you ever buy another Bark River knife.

Mike Stewart owner of bark river knives was and is the maker of every blackjack ever made is what he told me

That knife was made by Mike Stewart in the Bark River factory for Ken Warner after the investors drove the Effingham operation bankrupt and Warner bought the name. I bought a 1-7 sub-hilt directly from ken. He was a really nice guy. Always answered calls on his business' line personally. The concave clip on the Effingham mades is way deeper than the Warner's. I wish I would have kept that knife.
BTW 1 is the model number, 7 (inches) is the blade length

An elatic hair tie or rubber band around the back of the retention strap will make it spring open out of the way when you deploy the snap.... nice blade

My blackjack has small circular scratches all around the quillion/guard. Is this normal?

I would never buy a randal knowing this knife exists.... around the same craftsmanship, better steel, and its cheaper

At least the retaining strap got sorted out. "Baton"? Why would you even mention that? Abusing any knife is stupid. Glue some leather over that rivet. Or it will scatch the handle up. Randell made knives are not worth what they charge. No soldier could afford that when they are supposed to be combat knives. Total rip off.
