As funny / silly / primitive as this stuff looks, it's 100% the future of gaming. Static pre-scripted NPCs such as in Skyrim will one day be viewed the way we do silent black & white film.

I like that they've added the necessary layers to keep track of stats and a nice GUI. But, the actual game story seems no where near as good as what's put out by the RPGs in CharacterAI.

great vid matt! by the way, you can get a bit more coherent text by using the $2/month cloud AI offered by AI roguelite. it's better than the default kobold model and actually better than the novelai API model in more than a few cases

All these new free versions of GPT are still more silly and limited than the initial paid GPT3 released a couple of years ago. I was lucky enough to play that one, it was fully uncensored and very smart. The only issue - it could not remember too long story, like after 10 sentences it would lose the track of what’s going on, but still was much smarter than the today’s free versions.

At this point, after many experiments I conclude that GPT-3 has no...Let's call it "long term temporal cohesion", It can't generate long story arches that intersect each other and make a full circle. Actually I've asked (over playground on OpenAI GPT-3 Davince 03) whether it could write a long stories by keeping track of characters relationship, and it said "NO" !
The same thing can be notice with image generations (like stable diffusion): It can generate a perfect Jesus in any setting but it can't generate the whole the last supper scene (in one run, if you keep using the last image as a starting point, many generations down the road it will generate incredible detail.
