Hey guys! I am a Canadian beauty "guru" - lol not really. I just love makeup, hair, fashion, design.. and I enjoy documenting these things. I'm not a false-eyelash, perfect nails, hair extensions kind of girl. I have been wanting to try the new line of Burt’s Bees makeup. Wayyy back in the day, before they sold out to such a large company and became super commercialized (like, when you’d only find it in small shops and such), they had a makeup line that was strictly all natural. It was simple- all cream formulas, except for a finishing powder. There was a concealer, a tinted moisturizer, a range of cream blush shades, and a small range of cream eyeshadow shades. This was the first makeup line I ever fell in love with. The lightest shade was PERFECT for my skin tone, and it never oxidized, so the color actually stayed perfect. I’d use the tinted moisturizer first, then the concealer, then the blush, and would set with the powder then do eyeshadow. It was really great and I’ve missed it so much, and have never been able to find anything that matched my color so well. I’ve also never had a makeup make my skin glow so much.

I’m pretty anxious to try this new line, even if it’s a lot different than their old one.

You should try the Burt's Bees Micellar Water. It smells a lot like honey and honey is one of the top ingredients. As a fellow oily-skin gal, I know that honey is a natural antibacterial and I swear it helps keeps breakouts at bay.

I love the moist look. I feel like it doesn’t look as makeup-y and though my skin is oily, moisturizing foundations are best for me. I may have to try this. To pale? YES, PLS.

I was torn between this and their B.B. If you ever can, it’d be awesome if you’d try it out! I wanna know how different they wear! Because B.B. cream is my go to (less makeup-y, lol - texture and stuff shows that it’s skin and makes it natural looking, and the B.B. gets rid of what bothers me the most, my hyper-pigmentation).

Thanks for this review! I think you and I are about the same skin color and I also clap when something is actually TOO PALE for me. It doesn't happen often. Diorskin Nude's lightest color is too dark for me. Please do a review on the Physian's Formula foundation as well. I've heard good things about it.

Please try the Idun minerals Nordic veil foundation! It's a Swedish company that you can purchase on their website. They use really healthy ingredients and they have very fair shades. I believe they have reasonable shipping to Canada

Lol pale olive people problems 😭 I’m like half a shade darker than you and maybe a bit more yellow, so I’m always in between like a Nars Siberia and a Nars Gobi.

I have very dry skin and im very fair. Like im basically a snowman and a ginger. I want to try this but idk how it will do. I love tarte Amazonian clay foundation. In more cool tone so i think the lightest shade is too yellow on me.

I use this mixed with LA Girl white. I find it applied best with a brush then pat in with a damp sponge as it sets. You have to really shake it before use but that prevents oxidizing. Hope this helps.
It doesn't last longer than 8 hrs on me & my skin is dry. Setting with a powder does help though.

Does IDUN Minerals ship to Canada? It's a Swedish brand and their shade Jorunn is *impressively* pale and neutral and they just came out with a more long-wearing and higher coverage foundation than their previous one. I wonder how that would work with your skin tone and type!

I don’t know if you’ve tried it yet but I’d love to know your opinion on the new makeup revolution concealer that’s supposed to be like shape tape, I have been considering buying shape tape but it’s difficult to get in the UK so if the shades and coverage of the revolution one are about as good I might stick with that.

I think Burt’s Bees has fewer toxic ingredients so it won’t perform as well as other foundations.

Ahh, I couldn't get this to work for the life of me! It really bummed me out. I was super thrilled to find a pale foundation with more natural ingredients but it just emphasized all of the problems on my skin! I am loving the powder foundation, though. As a foundation it is light coverage but I like to use it to set my foundation.
What Physicians Formula shade did you get? I'm interested in trying it but my Shoppers only carries certain shades. LC1 is the palest, but the wrong undertone for me! I'm worried LN4 (the second palest mine offers) will be too dark!
