forget the suppressor, we need to talk about that drip cuz there ain't no way that weapon's getting forgotten anytime soon.

I absolutely love this use of what’s often seen as a defect in 3d metal printing
DSDXV.
I love the focus on Material Engineering Ian has brought to this year's shot show.

A surgical equipment rep brought some of this material into our office about 12 years ago. In this case it was being marketed as "trabecular metal", in that is somewhat mimics the inner trabecular pattern of "spongy" cancellous bone and allows good ingrowth for the retention of implanted prosthetics. I begged the rep to get me a larger sample because I immediately thought using a bored though cylinder of the stuff as a suppressor monocore. It's cool to see it happen for real.

At first glance the thumbnail made me think it was Ian with with a suite and a monster Chad cigar in his hand.
I was all in with it!

Pretty neat. I've been doing that over a decade with a DMLS machine and titanium at work making medical implants. The "sponge" in implants allow the bone to grow into the pores

What a spiffing suit, looking dapper sir.

I like how Ian instinctively goes for the cap to open it then subsequently holds himself back like, "nope, shouldn't do that".

Came out of nowhere with the BEST supressors on the market.

Can’t wait to hear what the cleaning process is! 🤣

3D printing really opened a lot of possibilities for all those parts with intricate designs, like silencers or chemical reactors.

Sounds like a very interesting concept. The real question is what the benefits like increased sound reduction will be exactly.

My god the dapper levels are through the roof here looking sharp.

I honestly thought the suppressor was a microphone
