DEVIKA | Getting Started [A-Z] Install & Run | Use Cases

In this video, we are going to install and test Devika, the open-source alternative to Devin.
Devika is Agentic AI Software Engineer.

These are the steps for installing and getting things ready.

1. Make sure you have git, Visual Studio Code editor and ollama installed.
3. Select a folder for working in Visual Studio Code editor.
5. Navigate to the folder devika: cd devika
6. Create a virtual environment using conda: conda create -n devika1 python=3.11 -y
8. Install this as well: playwright install --with-deps
13. Navigate to the "\DEVIKA\devika\ui" Folder In the powershell, then type bun to check if the installation have been done correctly
14. Type bun install in the powershell
15. Type bun run dev in the powershell
17. Devika will start the work and the results will be available in the projects folder.
18. Now you can run the files in the project folder and play the snake game (in my case)

I am a Flutter app developer and mostly I work using NodeJS and Firebase and I have literally no knowledge in these languages and technologies shown in the video. But FINALLY after spending hours, watching, downloading and installing stuff, staying awake all the night; I am able to run Devika. Thanks to you ❤

i setup apis, my devika server is running, i run the ui and the through give URL i open the devika interface but its not showing my model, not allowing to input showing error not connect to server what is the issue ?

This is great .. .hey any chance it manage to learn and use the GODOT API? it just copy and paste code from internet but reviewing the logic .... for Godot it would be nice to see what it can do

After Devika generates the code, can we ask for it to be executed, and will it run the entire code without requiring any additional information? I would just need to write a message like "Run the provided code."

Wow ! Relly nice video...thanka ..How much it cost(API) to run Devika on local laptop? Can we use LLMs which are total free of cost.. without API keys? That would make Devika free atleast for POCs.

great video but i followed all the steps and it launches the front end and back end but it won't let me select a model or create a project, as you I am on windows, any tips ? Something i could double check? Ollma is runing too
