I was just watching a 'Smoke video from may of 2021, and couldn't recognize Charlie in it...wtf? I'll have to watch it again. I'm an old geezer (66), some of my favorite music was Lynyrd Skynyrd, that southern bluesy, slidey, rocking music! When I saw them in the 1990's after the plane crash, it just wasn't the same to me anymore - not as authentic, like a parody of what they were. Blackberry Smoke reminds me of early Skynyrd, the REAL music I love. Down to earth, down home, deep down blues, REAL music from their soul, not contrived BS music for money. Charlie is one of the best in that genre, one of my favorites anyways. A great song writer, singer, and he sure can play that gitfiddle!

Charlie and Billie Strings are about the greatest thing going. I love that black Gretsch over Charlie’s right shoulder. Merle has his own picking style Travis finger picking.
