Dutch students hold final pro-Palestine protest before summer recess at University of Utrecht

Dutch students marched towards the headquarters of the University of Utrecht on Tuesday for their final pro-Palestine demonstration before summer recess.

The student protesters had hoped to occupy campus buildings to pressure the university’s board to meet their demands of cutting ties with Israeli institutions, but were met with closed doors.

Students in Utrecht have organised multiple pro-Palestine protests in recent months, some which were met with violent police response. The students have vowed to continue the protests when the new academic year starts later in 2024.
