Season 2 Episode 9 The Crossing

Cid sends the Bad Batch to extract some ipsium mineral from a mine she recently purchased, but during the expedition their ship is stolen. Forced to trek towards a spaceport, they are buried inside another mine when their recovered ipsium is detonated by a lightning storm. Having trouble dealing with the recent sudden turnabouts, Omega discovers an ipsium vein, but while trying to harvest it, she and Tech get separated from the others and have a talk about adapting to changes in life before they find an alternative way out. They find the spaceport abandoned, but manage to contact Cid, who grudgingly agrees to pick them up in a few days.

"why don't you act like it?" watching the show you can tell how much he pays attention to Omega. It's not her fault she's angry either. She needs a specific type of reassurance that he's not giving her (in this episode she keeps asking if he TRUSTS her and he shows that he does but does not say it, at least not in those words) and it's so sad to see that the way the way her shows that he cares isn't really being picked up on. They just communicate differently.

As someone with autism, I have made people angry when I had a neutral reaction to big news. Then, after a few hours I would react to it. But turns out it wasn’t my fault, I was just autistic.

When I saw this I legit cried. Tech is my favorite character and what he said related to much with me and it made me so happy. Why can’t there be another season?!

As an autistic myself, I can relate how Tech can struggle with change. He has a hard time processing it, but he's still willing to respect their choices. Even with the betrayal of Crosshair and the temporary leave of Echo to speak for the clones, he still respects them as his brothers and as his colleagues.

Always felt like tech was more sad about echo leaving then the others because echo was the only one who actually understood half the stuff tech said and they both were responsible for managing the ship and making plans. Without echo he had a lot more to do

That’s ironic. Just this morning my brother got mad at me for not reacting, that’s the best way to describe it, to something he said. He ask if I was even listening. I told him yes I just hadn’t processed it yet. Most of my family doesn’t really care with my lack of reactions to things, they usually go, she’s just in her own little world.

Him and Gumball are genuinely the greatest AuDHD representations ever, I swear. The fact that they're both coincidentally actually pretty different in their approaches also represents that neurodiversity really well since every autistic person is different. Nonetheless, we can still see them both pretty clearly with the symptoms we know of. I relate more towards the latter, but I cannot deny that Tech is also excellent in his own way.

This interaction was based off a fan-made comic or at least... was a total coincidence that this scene was animated. The comic showed Tech and Omega falling off into a flooded cavern where the found a small beachhead to rest on. Tech actually said and mentioned in the comic that he processes emotions differently and is compensated for his intellect and sharp mind. One moment that I thought was nice in the comic but wasn't shown in the TV show was Tech offering his skinsuit to Omega because she was shivering and a clone's skinsuit can help insulate body heat.
