My Opel Insignia 2009 2.0CDTI had issues with headlights. At first, these two errors started showing from time to time, until they became almost permanent, every time when I would start the car. When these errors appear, my long beam stops working and even sometimes my Bi Xenon light on my headlight would just turn off when this error/errors pops up.

If your cornering lights work fine, ballast as well, then probably the issue that causing your error is inside the headlamp itself, which means:
A) You have to buy new one - which costs around 1000+ euros just for the part
B) Buy a used one - costs around 350-500 euros if you get lucky to even find a working one
C) Find an electrician/electronics engineer who can disassemble your headlight and find the exact cause of the error.

In my case, I had two issues, the main issue was with the high beam flap/shutter in my right headlamp, the part that controls turning on/off high beam was being jammed/not working properly. The fix cost me 100 euros for hands and 60 euros for used part, total 160 euros. The 2nd one was with AFL Control Unit which died because of main issue(at least that's what the guy who fixed issues told me), the used part for this cost me 100 euros.

You know it would have been better to have a video showing how you fixed it than 16 seconds of the issue. But then I've done the same thing with a broken washing machine video😂

In my 2010 Opel Insignia, I've already changed the ballast twice because it's filled with water and it damages my lights. The problem is that the issue keeps coming back. I don't believe that switching to a new headlight, despite spending more money, will resolve the problem. This car has many issues with water infiltrations and electronics. I think that a seal in this case around all the components of the headlight is the solution. But from what I've read, silicone is not advisable. They recommend plastic welding along the areas with air vents while performing a leak test. What do you think can be done? My mechanic has had the car since yesterday, and he's also not quite sure what to do because the solution of a new headlight is expensive for me, and buying the ballast and the light and replacing them will result in the same issue soon with water getting in. A lot of water enters the headlight, and it's not condensation; it's actual water accumulating at the bottom where the ballast is. Do you have any solutions on how to waterproof a headlight and all its components? And if it's cracked from some impact, is it possible to seal it? Thanks for the help from somebody. ❤
