Nationalism/Capitalism vs Communism basically were brother against a brother openly fought each other over ideology, not like a civil war but street quarrels. In México, on September 1984 there was a massive gas explotion very near México city (San Juanico gas accident) . A year later, there was an earthquake that destroyed importante places of the city. To this Day, there are still dome cracks on the sidewalks and avenues from that disaster.

80s in south korea was end of korean military dictatorship and beggining of democracy... my grandfa said he was there and it was really hopeful days even though there were so many sacrifice for democracy. For me, living in 2022 in south korea, It was worth that. I respect all of them who fought for democracy in 80s.
