In this video we discuss the differential equations as a type of equations that chemical engineers deal with. We illustrate the difference between algebraic and differential equations by the models of CSTR and PFR. The idea of numerical solution is discussed and Runge-Kutta method is illustrated as an example of a numerical solution technique for ordinary differential equations.
The aim of this video is to show how the numerical solution is tedious and time consuming, and to show that using a software with a built-in module for solving differential equations is more accurate and saves a lot of time.
