But also when you cut off the meniscus you are preparing the knee for a potential arthritis. Is that correct? How much in % can you remove from the medial meniscus to be safe and free of arthritis in the future?

I’ve played soccer my whole life. I’m 25 and I just got my whole lateral meniscus removed in March. I’ve played soccer but my knee keeps swelling and hurts. Does this seem symptoms of Arthritis or do I need to continue with therapy? Someone respond

I had a partial meniscectomy done 6 years ago and it went well and my knee has been well since. Sports like basketball and no problem with a brace.
Two days ago I tweaked my knee and it felt like it was a bit unstable in that moment.

How likely is it that I re-tore it? Or that my exposed surfaces touch? I've retained full range for motion except for when contracting leg muscles at full extension. Leg will fully extend w/o pain when left limp.

R.I.C.E. has helped with pain and motion. Just want some ideas, thank you

I’m getting this done for the second time right knee this time left back in 2013. Been waiting for surgery for 4months this hurts Alot!so glad it’s almost over

I’m so concerned for my husband’s repair, he had 40 percent of his meniscus cut out and he was sent home without crutches and was told he could walk around like normal ? Something doesn’t seem right . 😢

Meniscectomy doesn't work ... cutting out an incredibly tougth shock abosorber in your knee and replacing it with nothing ... guess what ... its doesn't work

I tore my meniscus seven months ago and messed it up even more last month and I'm just now going to get surgery next week. How screwed am I? 😕
