There looks to be some quite excellent surface detail present. I couldn't see if it was raised, but there's lots of it!

I'm excited I just found and bought the same kit in the UK from Oxfam for £6.99, it is from 1970 so its quite vintage and like yours my kit is still sealed, I also bought a Tamiya FA 102 Shoki Nakajima-44 Tojo 1\72 for £6.99 so I'm pretty pleased with myself!! Great review by the way : )

Have the same kit in my stash. Got with a multi kit lot off of ebay. Look forward to seeing you do this one.

Good review! Another vintage A6M kit to look for is the Jo-Han 1:72 scale kit. Can be built as a Mitsubishi A6M2 or a Nakajima A6M2-N Rufe. Looks a lot like the newer Airfix offerings, minus the cockpit. The Jo-Han kit has close to no cockpit detail. The  Parts fit is actually really good too. Reminds me a bit of the new Airfix PR XIX Spifire.

That's an old Tamiya box! Stick the yellowed decals on your window for a couple of weeks. Actually, tape them to the inside of the curtain in case you may have any moisture condensation that builds on your windows.

Yup.. this is the one I meant, not the Hayate.. :) Have to blame lack of attention to detail.. :) Or stupidity.. or all three of the above.. Either way, I still want one of these in my collection at some point, hopefully I'll be bale to find another one on ebay again at some point. :)

Sounds good, thanks for the info I will definitely check the one store out when I'm down there! I'll let you know what I pick up.

I wonder if anyone has ever used that little tube of cement. I've come across a couple of cheaper kits that had a tube in them, but I didn't want to risk it.
