When you compared Jacob's love of Rachel to the love that Jesus has for the church, it reminded of the statement found in Hewbrews 12.2....for the joy set before him Jesus endured the cross and scorned its shame.

Thank you, Pastor David! This lesson helped me by confirming the thoughts of my heart towards the Lord. I have been a “Leah” for a long time, not only as a teenager, but for 22 years in a marriage. The Lord makes me complete and whole. He loves me and helps me. The pain is difficult, but as James says, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials“ - James 1:2. Jacob left a home where he had privilege and servants to go into a foreign land and work to seek a wife. Jesus left his home in heaven, where he had privilege and servants (angelic beings) to go to a foreign land (earth), where he worked (for 33 years) to seek his wife (the church).
