and just like that, Broadway was never the same after The Lion King premiered

This is the most amazing start of a Broadway show that I have ever seen. My wife and I were lucky enough to have orchestra seats on the aisle, so we felt as if we were being swept along by the procession of animals heading past us toward the stage. At one point in this spectacle, we turned toward each other and saw that we were both weeping, overwhelmed by the beauty of it all. It was sheer theatrical magic.

I have seen this show live 30 times and I have watched this clip over 200 and it brings tears of joy to my eyes every time. I have seen many shows in the theater and some of the best, Harrison-My Fair Lady, Mostel-Fidler on the Roof, Bryner-King and I, Kiley-Man of La Mancha, Channing-Hello Dolly, Andrews-Victor/Victoria, Paige-Evita; all great, but none of it compares to the Lion King. As Rosie O'Donnell said, "...the most amazing show I have ever seen."
