The Major Superhero Role Ray Liotta Regretted Turning Down

The late Ray Liotta had a remarkable on-screen presence, bring gravitas and intensity to a variety of roles, including mobster Henry Hill in "Goodfellas," the ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson in "Field of Dreams," and a violent ex-convict in his 1986 breakout "Something Wild." Liotta also played several cops and detectives over the years, which is very interesting, considering he almost played "The World's Greatest Detective" back in 1989. Long before superhero movies were commonplace on the big screen, Liotta opted out of a role that would have changed his career forever. This is the major superhero role Ray Liotta regretted turning down.

I lived in Peoria Illinois years back. I frequented a video shop and had a friend there who was in her fifties back at the time(mid 1990s) and the biggest Ray Liota fans. One of her regulars had a daughter who was dating Ray Liota. He came in to the video store everytime he was in town to stop by and say hi to the video store clerk just because she was a fan. Every few months there would be a new picture of Ray and the clerk on the wall.
