When I was 18 I lived in a house with 2 dudes. One day while we were at work my roommate's dogs decided to shred my entire supply of pads and tampons. Dustin got home before me and snapped me pics of it. I was freaking horrified. When I got home he had texted our other roommate to pick me up more and then he walks through with legit enough pads and tampons for the next 4 years. Hes like "I didn't realize there were so many options so I got most of them" 🤣🙈 they were so sweet but I was dying inside haha

Soooo, I was around 11 when I got my first period. It’s embarrassing as heck to have to purchase your own period products when you’re that young. I relied on my mom (rest her soul) to buy pads for me. She kept forgetting. She couldn’t get used to her baby having her period. So for my first three or four periods, my mom would take me to a local teeny tiny grocery store ran by a very old man. I would have to go in and purchase pads and nothing else from this little old man. He could tell I was embarrassed. He always rang me up with a smile and gave me a giant chocolate chip cookie for free every time. I am so thankful for that little old man and his kindness. And thankful my mom finally started getting me pads 🤦🏻‍♀️

The diva cup is wildly expensive. You can get cheaper ones from Amazon - just make sure they're made from FDA approved materials. Some companies like Pixie cup or Ruby have a buy one/ donate one offer where they send a cup to a poorer area for every cup purchased.

Please consider donating feminine hygiene products to shelters and homeless women. Some women have to choose between having food or a period product and that's just heartbreaking.

Scotland has decided to make period products available for free in many community locations. I hope more countries consider this!

Being a woman is ridiculously expensive. I don't get name brand pads. I go to Dollar General and get store brand. Still expensive, but still less than name brand 🤷🏻‍♀️

When my two brothers got old enough to start asking questions about things like periods (I was around 14/15 at the time) me and my mom decided to come up with a code phrase to reference when I needed to be left alone or wasn't feeling good because of my period. I decided to call it shark week. Well two or three years ago (I am 29 currently) I was visiting my family and my brothers had some friends over. I was feeling pretty awful and my mom asked if I was okay so I told her it was shark week. From the back room I heard several teenage boys cheer and my brother yelled that he was excited to hear that Shark Week was back on the discovery channel. My mom and I laughed so hard.

My most embarrassing moment with feminine hygiene products happened before I had to use them. My brother discovered mom's tampons and took them all out of the packages, dropped them in the toilet to watch them grow, then flushed them. Mom took him to the store and made him but her more. He was so angry and embarrassed he yelled at her about it all the way across the parking lot. I peed my pants laughing at him and the looks he was getting from the other people around. 😂
