Laura thinks giving to charity, makes you a captain

On the zoom call they were having a discussion. In a discussion you give opinions and respond to questions. Souness asks a question and Mings responds. All of a sudden Mings has a lot to say. I think captaining a club the size of Villa is a big achievement and playing for England. Using Souness' logic he shouldn't say anything to Pogba who has won a World Cup scoring a goal in the final which Souness never got close to. His love of black players continues. I remember him trying to fight Dwight Yorke in training at Blackburn.

The debate was about the captaincy and character behind that. So Laura then talks about initiatives he’s been involved with. So poor that.

I know people want to be politically correct, but Graeme Souness is talking about football, nothing more. Mings, along with many other players, love to hide behind other issues when they get criticized for footballing reasons. Just because Mings made it to the professional level in a somewhat non-conventional way doesn't exempt him from criticism. The fact of the matter is that he's, at best, a mid-table CB, and Aston Villa have ambitions to be challenging for European positions. Everything else surrounding the conversation of Mings is just noise. If Mings were doing charity work and a fan told him he was a crappy footballer, it'd be out of line.

Tyrone Mings is a smart guy. He smartly jumped into the bandwagon of racism during blm in usa. Like Rashford, it helped him on the football field too. If anyone dared to criticize him, it came at a risk of being called racist

Laura is spot on. Mings was invited to talk, and talked about things relevant to his life and experience, ie racism in football, mental health as a professional football player, ecc.
How does not having won any silverware make his points more or less valid? What Mings said is either true or false, correct or incorrect REGARDLESS his achievements as a football player.
