Biggest threats to people's private information and personal data:
1) Governments
2) Shady big companies
3) Hackers

I agree, but I think a special mention should be given to phishing attacks. I can see these getting much more difficult for the everday person to detect since large language models are getting much cheaper and more available to the public. Phishing attacks are about to become very human-like, detailed and personal.

Stay safe folks! ✌️

And Cisco does nothing to prevent any attacks in this current ecosystem. In fact, through their shotty code, enable it or give backdoors to the NSA to knowingly let them in. Or work specifically with the Chinese government to build out their Great Firewall. How this company still exists is beyond me.

Phishing and Social engineering should be has been and always will be #1, human error and manipulation is key to any good cyber attack.

Text Phishing attempt last night at 11:22 pm saying this is my last chance to pick up a UPS package (I know I am not expecting a package) and to click the provided link in the text. No way am I going to click that link.

There is simply no excuse for falling for ransomware: offline backups will enable recovery without having to pay the hackers.

We have been doing backups since the 1980's. Absolutely no excuse for not doing it today.

Definitely agree. #2 was interesting to hear. I assumed ransomware and spyware since it's a major money maker. Too soon to consider AI a threat? I know it's everybody's buzz word and it gets written off sometimes but if it advances as fast as other technologies before it.. or would it be considered a tool and not a threat? Looking forward to watching the long form interview!!
