It’s a great data mode. I’ve had years of fun with this via a Wellbrook loop and Winradio. From the UK I was able to track aircraft across half a global hemisphere - from Brazil to eastern Siberia. South Africa or the Indian Ocean. Highly recommended! Great video Matt! 👍

Thank you for a very enlightening video, I wasn't even aware this mode existed. I registered with Charles and he did advise that the Google Earth interface does not work with the latest GE versions, it either needs to be an older version with the COM interface or GE Professional. I also found a program called Sorcerer that decodes this mode I think some of the TX sites might be out of date compared to PC-HFDL.

Is the rectangular box above the word listening the actual station being received? I see for instance the information for other ground stations. I want to know where to look on the GUI to see eho is transmitting.

I only have experience decoding VHF ACARS using Raspberry Pi with rtlfm + acarsdec . If HF DL is same as ACARS, it may be decoded with same setup.

At this moment, I not found the HF DL signal yet in my country. :)

I followed your video for configuring the SDRuno and the PC-HFDL program for the sound, but then I have no sound in the SDRuno program...
Where could it be going the wrong way?

Great video - setup works great. Anyway to monitor audio and decode HFDL simultaneously? Running SDRuno, RSPduo, sound cable, PC-HFDL on a Win 10 PC. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for a great video as a new SDR user & avid aviator I thought that I had finally found the final peice of the jigsaw that was until I discovered that the author os no longer contactable & you can no longer licence PC HF DL. So now what?.

wondering if anybody can help I the PC-HFDL on windows 10, straight on to C DRIVE, as administrator, but it wont really start it ask for the ini file, I choose the VB cable but it wont open any further, grateful for any help, Darren
