Driven the E63S and the M5 F90 non comp, the F90 is a masterpiece of a car, no other words for it. Basically the best car you can get for the money, an insane allrounder. The E63 feels faster and sounds better, but the M5 is more comfortable and IS faster. Interior has a higher quality (Benz interior looks nicer imo tho), but the E63S is indeed stiffer then the M5. Bonkers. The Amg is a tad more emotional to drive, but the M5 is just perfection in every other way. Not surprised the G90 couldnt top this, no sedan will probably top this one as a package. And still looks so good.

The pops disappear after 74kph and of you do it too much, it also disables it untill you go in low rev range.

I also drove both of them. I honestly can't agree that much on the brutal part since imo the E63s has a more crispy and thunderous exhaust note (pre opf like this F90), in pair with the MCT shifts it makes the experience more emotional. It is slightly slower but feels faster, the launch control is more engaging.
The M5 performs better, the ZF8hp is top notch in terms of auto gearboxes. But I don't care that much about those tenths of a second.
Sure a bmw owner would go for the M5 and vice versa.
For me the M177 in pair with the MCT just makes the deal. Probably one of the best V8 engines out of germany, especially desirable without an OPF.
The interior is slightly better build together in the BMW, but the E Class has features that make the experience a little more astonishing.
For example the Bowers and Wilkins in the M5 isn‘t great for 7'000 bucks. The equivalent Burmester High-end does not only look cooler, but blows out your ear dreams if you want so.
The M5 is more sort of a precision tool, the AMG more muscle.
Both equivalently great great cars, at the end it's preference. If you care about the slightly faster and better handling car, then the m5 it is.
I also use the air suspension lift frequently, comes in handy.

You can set the transmission shifting speed to be crazy fast by using the buttons on the gear lever. I believe you were on the slowest setting.
Regarding the reliability - your opinion may be biased by the reviews of the old versions of this engine, specifically the one on the first X5M/X6M which was terrible. The F90 has the fourth generation of the S63 engine and there are vehicles with 200k kms for sale with the original engine. There even was a F10 M5 sold with 330k kms having the original engine and gearbox (the F10 has the third generation). You should check the F90 forums and see for yourself that people are very pleased with the reliability of the engine.

I own the normal F90 non comp with the same spec as this one mine only beeing donington grey. I prefer the normal one to the competition as it has a way more brutal sound stock (Last M5 with without OPF) and it is a bit more comfortable. I love this car but i gotta say - if you love your life you feel like its too comfortable because if you would drive it, like you're supposed to drive it, you have to carry your gravestone on the backseat :D great video!

F9x gen m cars are THE m cars to buy, the s63 tu2 in the f90 from 2018 and up fixed all the issues, my dad has an f90, from new in 2018 and the only issue he had was thanks to a rock shot into the intercooler by an f82 m4 launching in front of him, but the car was and still is an awesome car, reliable, fast, good looking, sounds great (we have very chill emissions regulations so it’s LOUD from factory) great sound system, comfortable and did I say fast? Nothing beats an m5

bro, zf8hp could be better than dct, just need proper soft, i dont mean about xhp st3, but something like turbolamik, when you have burnout mode, gears kicks you on back, gears shifts faster than any dct, and many many things
