Yup! The wet rag definitely works. I find with a wet rag and a grout sponge I can entirely avoid sanding small patches and be ready for primer

Good advice there. I wet sand hot mud sometimes by using those special sponges they make for drywall or one of the sponges with the green scrubber on the back as they get pretty aggressive with the edges. Sometimes I just put my big fan on it and get the edges to dry enough to dry sand it. Have you ever tried standing your 6 inch knife up at a 90° angle to the ceiling to scrape off the left marks? That’s my other trick for hot mud. I bet I have spread 5000 bags of hot mud in my life, LOL 😂 #drywalltube

Hey Paul! Thanks for the video on wet sanding hot mud. It worked great, I used a damp sponge that was wrung out pretty good to wet the hardened hot mud and then wet sanded, just as in this video. The sponge softened the almost setup hot mud and the the sanding sponge blended perfectly. Thanks for this advice. Keep up the tutorials.

Please do a video about the self-spreading mud that is thrown on walls and ceiling so we can see it find the crack and make a perfect patch without labor.

Curious if you can leave the 5min- 90
Min hot mud and leave smooth prime and paint? Or do you have to do a all purpose?

How you wet sand hot mud without caking up on whatever your sanding with?? If i even touch it with sandpaper or sponge when the stuff isnt completely dry it will immediately cake up on the paper.. which causes me to run a big whoops all across the repair..

Interesting. I didn't do that between my coats. Maybe that's why it looks like crap.
