Crispin Glover's 'Friday the 13th 4' dance (AC/DC)

There's a well-known scene in "Friday the 13th 4: The Final Chapter", which sees Crispin Glover at a party, asking a girl to dance. But instead of dancing, he just flails about wildly in start/stop herky-jerky motions.

The song used in the scene was "Love is a Lie" by the group Lion. However, word on the street is that they were actually dancing to "Back in Black" by AC/DC on set, and had to dub the aforementioned song in afterwards.

So I went back and added AC/DC's "Back in Black" to the scene just to see what it would look like - and if it would help Glover's dance moves make any more sense.

I think Crispin was marching to the beat of his own drum on this one.

i prefer the song they used in the film because it makes his dance even more awkward

crispin glover said that this was the song he was actually dancing to

The dance does sync up significantly better to Back in Black, duh.

However, the replacement tune (Lion's "Love Is a Lie") is a great rock song in its own right.

I think anyone could tell like what's going on his mind but it was fun to say "look how weird he is".
Definitely weird as hell don't get me wrong, but any human with ears can tell he's just moving the way the song makes him feel inside. I suppose most people only do that kind of thing when they're alone; maybe we're missing out.

This actually is interesting. his moves kinda sync with the song and his clap at the end makes more sense with the song too.

It's a wicked song, obviously, but the Lion track totally suits an 80s slasher movie to perfection. I'm glad we got to discover it thanks to The Final Chapter.

It actually synchs up a little better if you start the song right at the part where Crispin begins his dance.

Reportedly, this was the song that was actually playing, but was too expensive to license, hence why its not in the film. So if his dance moves seem to sync with the song, its because he was actually dancing to it...

makes me think of Chris Farley a bit, especially :57 to 1:00

actually synchs up best to Dark Side of the Moon

I never noticed in the original, when you look at the people air drumming on the couch, it's way off beat. Its much better here.

Actually in the deleted scenes on the 2009 DVD you can hear the old song that was used and it wasn't AC/DC. The director also doubts it was AC/DC as well.

Fun fact this was the song that they were originally dancing to but was changed to love is a lie because it fit more and I think to avoid getting sue or copyright.

Crispin Glover: Hey! How come you turned that off?
Guy: I wanted to save your career.

His dancing feels like it actually goes with the song, since his pauses are at the same time the music pauses, also that girl he is dancing with’s dancing makes more sense too. This would’ve been much better.

I mean I sorta see where he’s coming from now

You need to do this to Midnight Oil and it would be accurate

Don't get me wrong I love this movie, and this dance is hilarious...But so many of you really think it syncs up better???? The only thing it syncs up to is a seizure. Nobody dances like this to any rock and roll song lol
