@Apollo, you can’t retrain those archers until that unit type is available. It takes time for the unit type to replenish which is needed prior to recruiting or retraining.

If you use the unit pool to recruit a new unit then there won’t be the man power for retraining of the same unit (and vice versa). 10:46

Archer ammo pool:
At the start of the battle, the computer calculates the total ammo poolfor the whole unit. Say 120 men with 20 arrows each = 2400 arrows. Even if you kill 119 of them, that one guy still has access to all the arrows that remain in the ammo pool. That is why the goblins continue firing well past the elves, because you have killed over half of them and the remaining goblins have thus close to twice as many arrows to shoot than normally.

34:10 this unit is the general unit you now have, you basically recruit a general

Just finished the episode and I need more D&C let's play's. Gonna start on your epic Gondor campaign from a few years ago.

Tip Apollo the extra militia units always replenish after their battle so you can use them to their deaths and the military garrison provides three double silver Chevroned units

Thanks for being the one of two YouTubers I can still watch, without having an agenda shoved down my throat. You are amazing. I hope you’re doing okay and hope the trip is fun

This really pushed me to start a new DaC campaign out of nowhere! I'm playing Rohan right now.

Edit: The "elite archers" you recruited IS a general unit. They didn't turn into one, they were one

35:03 The deadly archers (elboreth sentinels) is a general unit. In DaC you can straight up recruit generals when the unit type is available.

The unit you recruited is the new general that you sent to govern with Haldir.

Really enjoying this playthrough! You chose one of the hardest factions but you’re doing great! Keep and eye on Isengard and be careful for Dol Guldur spam armies, ai can’t get bankrupt on vh/vh if i’m not mistaken.

You can see the projected effects of a new building on growth, income, culture etc in the settlement info tab. Helps to select the roght buildings for income for example, because leather tanners aren't economic buildings lol

unlucky you didn't get the city under achnod iaud, usually dol guldur hold it rather than rohan, and with your expansion I don't think you can get it later now
ALSO achnod Iaud SHOULDN T be your military hub, not only you destroyed the tier 1 barrack last episode, but dol guldur just next door will be MUCH better for that, building a "military hub" is gonna take you like 70 turns minimum in that small village
edit : there's also the castle south of it (but still north of the river) which can become a decent settlement, has ports and is well placed to attack Mordor and stop Rhun

Your channel is a real find! The quality of the videos and the presentation of information is top-notch. Thank you so much for your hard work!🤔🚗⚓️

Hi Apollo. I think that you should send those wounded troops from the front lines back for retraining. They earned nice chevrons and their combat effectiveness is non-existent. Pitty to loose them while retrained they would be much more useful then raw recruits.
Dope campaign tho😀
Us old people remember the good old days when people knew how to make games (...grumpy noises...)

I just downloaded my first mod ever because of this. Love this gameplay. It’s the shogun 2 mod

Trains a new general. Complains about getting a general

Trade agreements are meaningless if you can't actually reach them, maybe a port would help with trade. Also, you can't completely refill units in M2TW by retraining unless that unit is ready to recruit (You need 122 elven archers ready to retrain that archer unit for example), that's why heavy losses in battle are important to avoid with elves.

i'm playing a short dunedain campaign and gosh it's really challenging cuz Dunledings, Angmar and Moria will attack you. I restarted a second time cuz it was reaaaally bad for me but now it's going fine cuz Bree-land finally helps out in my southern border

Gondor campaign looks cool cuz you have big territory and feels strong but haha seems difficult to to that faction if it´s your first campaign. Any suggestions of easier factions to start with?
