May he and all the beautiful and legendary RUSSIAN artists, Gergiev and Netrebko to name just two, be adored and admired and lavished with love in special performances that our stupid govts and corrupt corporate media cannot spit on, and soon, where those of us who know better can praise you all without any reservation. Artists are not politicians and that must be respected -- forever. Long live the GOAT Domingo and Russian art and artists everywhere. Paz y salud.

I'm afraid Placido Domingo is following, not leading here. Structurally, it is a very simple piece and, if he knew it at all, he wouldn't even need the score. Apart from the opening downbeat, the orchestra don't need him (just as well). The bit where he struggles to to get back to the beginning for the da capo is painful. I haven't seen anything else of him conducting, I hope it is an anomaly.
