speculative fiction & SFF (sci-fi/fantasy) short story collection/anthology recommendations

I wanted to recommend short story collections and anthologies of science fiction by diverse authors!! women, LGBTQ people, and authors of color are obviously heavily under-represented in this genre, and I think short story collections are a good way to get introduced to new authors or get to know someone's writing without committing to a whole novel.

omg Truth of Fact Truth of Feeling is probably also my favourite short story ever, i still think about it all the time and i need everyone else to also read it. i've had Love After the End on my list for a while now too so i think this is my sign to finally check it out! also for sff short story collections, N. K. Jemisen's How Long 'Til Black Future Month was the first short story collection that made me like reading short stories so would definitely recommend that in turn :)

Added all of these (that I didn't know about yet) to my TBR! I highly recommend Defying Doomsday, they're dystopian sci-fi stories with disabled main characters and authors !! It's so damn good and one of my favourite anthologies ever but sadly very underrated! Most of the stories are queer as well. I know there are other collections by this editor that are similar that I want to check out

I am OBSESSED with speculative short stories/anthologies — have you heard of Far Out? It's a thick anthology but I really enjoyed it. Sci Fi/Fantasy stories by queer authors!

The story by Adam Gernet Jones in Love After the End called History of the New World lives in my head still. It was incredible. Haven't read any of these other ones but obviously they're going straight to my tbr.

I read that werewolf fairy vs vampire zombie one. I personally was not a fan, but I read it in the collection Cursed edited by Marie O'Reagan and Paul Kane. So if you want more of that, it might be worth checking it out.

I would.recommend Stephen King, Ursula K LeGuin, Philio K Dick, Joey Vimsante, Arthur C Clarke and TIm Schooch.
