In this track breakdown, mix engineers Robin Reumers and Natalia Schlesinger from Abbey Road Institute Miami share the mixing workflows and creative techniques they employed on the song "Miracle" by RIZA in Dolby Atmos. They share how to prepare your mix session for Dolby Atmos music creation, including how to use buses and sends and creative techniques for panning vocals and instruments. They demonstrate best practices on both the native Pro Tools Dolby Atmos panner and the Dolby Atmos Music Panner, make use of plug-in echo, delay, and FX, and show techniques for how best to utilize the LFE channel.

The Dolby Institute was created to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation of content creators. Through educational programs, strategic partnerships, and direct artist support, we help creatives think critically and creatively about sound and image, unlocking the power of technology to help tell their stories.

Just listened to the song on my 7.1.4 system and it sounds awesome, great job Robin and Natalia on both the song and this informative video! Keep the educational content coming Dolby, it is great to see into the workflows of professional Atmos mixers.

I think now that Dolby Atmos is native in protools it would be good to start framing this tech as a production tool. It seems that all the info online is geared toward taking an existing stereo mix and translating it to spatial audio. It makes sense considering that there is no other commercial application yet in music. Now is the time to change the way producers see this newly accessible tool.

Thanks for this video. I have an issue with the Dolby Atmos music panner. I don't get to connect to localhost. I tried typing localhost, tried to type the IP address, downloaded newest version of the panner, download newest version of pro tools ultimate, everything fails and it's almost impossible to get information on the internet. Is there a way to make it?

The binaural on this track was ok-ish but not blown away by it (using Austrian Audio x-65 cans). Interesting vid but seems a bit undisciplined for my liking.

Would've been nice if the screen recording was HD also, way too low resolution for a video like this…

Im sorry but it is not recommended to put the vocals in the center speakers
due to possible phasing issues. That’s called the difference between “Phantom Center” and “True Center”.

Why nobody can't tell the truth, how do you burn such format. Please can someone explain it

Dolby Atmos lite. Video wasn't created in HD and there was actually very little on preparation as per your description - merely a running commentary and an overwhelmed girl.
