Global Spotlight: Dr. Marie Peoples

ICMA is celebrating 100 years of international by recognizing the vital role that global knowledge exchange plays in shaping the careers of local government professionals. Dr. Marie Peoples traveled to AlUla, Saudi Arabia as part of a global exchange organized with the Global Engagement Committee of ICMA at the invitation of the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU). RCU is the governing body for AlUla, which is engaged in a multi-year initiative to transform the oasis into the world’s largest open-air museum while protecting its cultural landscape and providing quality of life for residents and visitors. 18 ICMA members; and representatives from Slovakia, India, Mexico, Solace, and the Ukrainian Association of Amalgamated Cities traveled to AlUla to share leading practices in local governance, livability, lifestyle recreation, utility services and other areas.
